Camp Tyler came about from an idea one of our Kiwanis members had in 1945.  He envisioned a year-round facility go be used as an outdoor camp for the children of Tyler and the surrounging communities.  With hard work and a lot of fundraising Camp Tyler opened in 1956 with Donaldson and Dudley cabins housing campers for the first time.  Camp Tyler is owned and operated by The Camp Tyler Foundation.
